Since we talked last, I worked at Third Year Award Tour with the Sophomores of the Farmers Union Youth system. It was, in short, a blast. I wish I had taken more pictures and written down more contact information, because these are the campers I want to know. Shawn, Jordan, Brittany, Meghan, et al., you were the best. Keep on rocking; I hope to see you at camp.

The week of the 4th was perfect for me: relaxing first by myself, then with family, then with my college clique. In other boring news you don't care about, I went to the dentist; the verdict: my teeth suck. Moving on.

Last week's camps involved campers from Morton, Sioux, Burleigh, and Mercer counties. Both were large camps that had multiple logistical problems. Especially of note were the five or six campers that ended up going home due to a flu bug that was going around. Ick. Despite the setbacks, these campers were some of the best, most well-behaved, cutest third- through sixth-graders I've dealt with all summer. Superb job, campers; I hope you had as much fun as I did.

I'm really excited right now, though, because starting this afternoon is my first senior camp of the year. Watch out Senior Camp 4: it's going to be a hot one. The weather widget is showing 80s and clear all week, which is awesome for camp as long as everyone stays hydrated. The co-op store is stocked with water and Berry Propel, so I'm set; I can't wait to make nearly a hundred new friends and even more memories this week. I'll see you there, friend.

Hello, Friend

This is Matt Leidholm, Jamestown College Student Senator and Farmers Union Camp Summer Staff 2007, writing from my secret lair deep underground the small town of Hillsboro, ND. This is where I will talk about life on the NDFU camp tour and, once school starts again in the fall, about the happenings on campus. This will be cross-posted to Facebook, so if you're reading this there, check out my blog proper as well.
